Shell Is Said to Seek Sale of Controversial UK Oil Field Cambo

Shell Plc intends to sell its stake in the UK’s controversial Cambo oil project, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The North Sea development has been on ice since December, when Shell said the economic case for the project had weakened. Oil prices have surged since then and the UK government has signaled stronger support for domestic oil and gas production after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
