RBC Hires Joon Lee From UBS to Work on Real Estate M&A in U.S.

Royal Bank of Canada hired investment banker Joon Lee to focus on real estate mergers and acquisitions out of the bank’s New York offices.

He’ll start at RBC in January, following completion of a garden leave, U.S. investment banking co-heads Matthew Stopnik and Jim Wolfe said in an internal memo Tuesday. The U.S. real estate business, led by Asad Kazim, has been growing, particularly in its focus on strategic advisory, according to the memo.

“Joon’s depth of industry knowledge and M&A expertise will serve to accelerate this growth,” Stopnik and Wolfe said in the memo.
