RBC Appoints Cokinos as Global Head of Leveraged Finance

Royal Bank of Canada’scapital-markets division appointed John Cokinos to lead its leveraged finance business globally, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg.

In his new role, Cokinos will continue to lead the bank’s US leveraged finance business alongside Charlie Smith, a position the pair have held since 2019, according to the memo.

It is the latest in a series of appointments the Canadian lender has made to better align its investment bank with the global needs of its clients. In September, RBC appointed a trio of senior bankers to lead its coverage of private equity firms globally. ...
