Qualcomm to Buy Modular for $3.9 Billion to Help AI Push (2)

Qualcomm Inc. said it is acquiring Modular Inc., for about $3.9 billion in stock, adding artificial intelligence software capabilities that will aid its push into data centers.

The two plan to close the transaction in the second half of 2026, when Qualcomm will give Modular’s owners 19.2 million shares, the San Diego-based chipmaker said Wednesday in a regulatory filing. Bloomberg earlier reported that the two were in talks for a deal valued at about $4 billion. The $3.9 billion figure is based on Qualcomm’s Tuesday closing share price of $204.13.
