PWC Wins UK Case Over Alleged Merger Confidentiality Breach

Watchstone Group Plc. failed to prove that an ex-PricewaterhouseCoopers LLPpartner gave away price sensitive information that pulled down the deal value in a 2015 sale of a distressed firm.

Watchstone failed to established that the senior employee at the auditor passed on confidential information, a London judge ruled.

Lawyers for Watchstone had argued that the law firm Slater & Gordon Ltd. would’ve paid millions more in the £637 million ($798 million) deal to purchase the legal services arm of then called Quindell Plc if the former PWC partner had not passed on the information.
