Polish Billionaire Quits Race for US-Owned TV, Insider Reports

Billionaire Michal Solowow has withdrawn from plans to purchase Polish television broadcaster TVN SA from Warner Bros. Discovery Inc due to uncertainty related to US President Donald Trump’s trade policies, according to a report by Business Insider Polska.

Solowow, who has a sprawling portfolio of investments from chemicals and energy to ceramic tiles, submitted a preliminary offer for TVN in January and newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reported this week that he placed the highest bid for the influential Polish broadcaster.
