Package Firm Silgan Is Said to Work With Adviser on Sale of Unit

Packaging maker Silgan Holdings Inc. is working with an adviser on a potential sale of its custom containers business, according to people familiar with the matter.

The unit could fetch about $1 billion or more in a sale, said the the people, who asked not to be identified because the information was private.

Silgan hasn’t made a final decision on pursuing a sale and might opt to keep the business. A representative for Silgan didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
