Occidental CEO Vicki Hollub to Retire and be Succeeded by COO

Occidental Petroleum Corp. Chief Executive Officer Vicki Hollub plans to retire June 1 after a decade of running the Houston-based oil producer.

The company’s chief operating officer, Richard Jackson, will replace her, Occidental said in a statement Friday.

Hollub, who is 66, was instrumental in steering Occidental’s relationship with the company’s largest shareholder, Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, during her tenure. She also oversaw Occidental’s $38 billion takeover of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in 2019 and the $10.8 billion acquisition of CrownRock LP in 2024.
