Oaktree Hires Permira’s Bauer for European Direct Lending Push

Oaktree Capital Managementhas hired a senior executive from Permira’s credit unit to grow its direct lending franchise in Europe, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Jens Bauer, who was co-head of direct lending at Permira, is set to join Oaktree in London as co-portfolio manager, said the people, who requested anonymity because the information is private. He will report to Nael Khatoun.

Bauer didn’t respond to a request for comment via LinkedIn. Representatives for Oaktree and Permira declined to comment.
