NYC’s Shuttered Princeton Club Lands in Tussle Over Trademark

The Princeton Club of New York, a storied midtown Ivy League establishment that shut down during the pandemic, has reappeared on the scene — in intellectual property circles, at least.

An offshoot of buyout firm American Industrial Acquisition Corp. has applied for trademarks on “Princeton Club of New York” and a “PCNY” logo superimposed on Princeton University’s well-known shield and chevron.

The entity, AIAC Puerto Rico Holdings LLC, is run by AIAC’s longtime chairman, Leonard Levie, who wants to revive the club in a new location, according to a spokeswoman.
