Newell-Jarden $16 Billion Price Tag Upheld by Delaware Justices

Newell Rubbermaid Inc.'s $16 billion acquisition of Jarden Corp. in a 2016 deal that created consumer goods giant Newell Brands Inc. was fairly priced, Delaware’s top court ruled.

“Although it is not often that a corporation’s unaffected market price alone could support fair value, the court here did consider alternative measures of fair value,” Chief Justice Collins J. Seitz Jr. wrote, “but ultimately explained its reasons for not relying on that evidence.”
