Mizuho Hires Macquarie’s Shih For Financial Sponsors Banking

Mizuho Financial Group Inc.’s Americas arm has hired Macquarie Group Ltd. managing director Mimi Shih.

“We are excited to have Mimi Shih join Mizuho as a managing director in the financial sponsors group post her garden leave,” Mizuho Americas spokesman Jim Gorman said in an email, adding that it’s a strategic growth area for the firm’s banking platform.

Shih was most recently head of technology, media and telecom coverage for Macquarie Capital’s leveraged finance group, according to her LinkedIn profile, which cites her responsibilities as underwriting and executing leveraged buyouts for private equity clients.
