McAfee to Sell Enterprise Unit to Symphony for $4 Billion

McAfee Corp. said it will sell its enterprise unit for $4 billion, allowing the cybersecurity provider to focus on consumer software.

A consortium led by Symphony Technology Group, a private equity firm focused on software providers, will purchase the unit in an all-cash deal, McAfee said in a statement Monday.

“STG is the right partner to continue strengthening our Enterprise business,” said McAfee Chief Executive Officer Peter Leav. “This transaction will allow McAfee to singularly focus on our consumer business and to accelerate our strategy to be a leader in personal security for consumers.”
