Manila Casino Fight Over SPAC Deal Fast-Tracked in Delaware (1)

A judge in Delaware agreed to fast-track a US legal fight between units of Universal Entertainment Corp. and a blank-check company that claims the Japanese slot-machine maker is trying to delay and scuttle a deal involving a Philippines-based casino and luxury resort.

Delaware Chancery Court Judge Travis Laster agreed Thursday to a July 10 trial date for the lawsuit filed by 26 Capital Acquisition Corp., a special-purpose acquisition company backed by SpringOwl Asset Management LLC.
