M&A in U.S. Rose to $2.04 Trillion in 2025, Highest on Record

Companies announced $2.04 trillion of mergers and acquisitions for U.S. targets in 2025, the highest volume on record, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

  • Volume rose 63% from 2024
  • The biggest deal was Paramount Skydance Corp.'s $103.6 billion offer for Warner Bros Discovery Inc.
  • 324 deals were announced with transaction values exceeding $1 billion vs 246 in 2024
  • The technology industry accounted for 19% of all announced deals by value
  • JP Morgan was the top financial adviser in 2025 with $818.9 billion of deals
