KKR Seeks to Raise $750 Million in Kokusai Electric’s Tokyo IPO

KKR & Co. is looking to raise about ¥111 billion ($749 million) from an initial public offering of Kokusai Electric Corp., which could be Japan’s largest listing in five years.

The private equity firm plans to sell about 58.8 million shares of the chip gear maker, according to a filing to Japan’s Finance Ministry on Thursday. It set an indicative price of about ¥1,890 per share, giving Kokusai Electric an estimated market value of around ¥435.5 billion at the time of listing, Bloomberg calculations show. The company plans to announce a price range on Oct. 10.
