Kellanova shares fell in New York trading following a report from Reuters that European Union regulators are opening an investigation into Mars Inc.’s acquisition of the maker of Pop-Tarts and Eggo waffles.

Kellanova shares briefly fell as much as 3.2% before paring some of the decline.

EU antitrust officials are concerned about Mars’ market share for certain products in some of its member nations, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter who it didn’t identify. Mars is unlikely to offer remedies that would allow the deal to move forward to the regulator before the end of its preliminary review ...
