JPMorgan Says Javice Added $13 Million to Legal Bills Post-Trial

JPMorgan Chase & Co. said Charlie Javice’s “out-of-control” legal costs grew by another $13 million after she was convicted in March of defrauding the bank, bringing her total to more than $73 million.

The largest US bank raised the new bills in a filing made public Tuesday in Delaware Chancery Court, where it is asking a judge to end its obligation to pay for Javice’s defense. JPMorgan claims Javice and her co-defendant, Olivier Amar, have abused a previous order by treating it as a “blank check” to run up costs.
