JPMorgan Conduct Should Be Barred From Javice Trial, US Says (1)

Charlie Javice should be barred from bringing up JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s due diligence on its $175 million acquisition of her college finance site, Frank, when she goes on trial for fraud next month, federal prosecutors said.

Javice, 32, and former Frank executive Olivier Omar, go on trial Feb. 10 on charges that they defrauded JPMorgan by vastly inflating the number of users Frank had ahead of the 2021 deal. Javice’s lawyers have previously suggested that the bank itself was at fault, and the defense plans to call expert witnesses to testify about proper due diligence.
