Investor Ng Buys Stake in Private Lender in Canada Finance Push

Canadian entrepreneur Gary Ng is deepening his push into Canada’s financial industry with the purchase of a stake in private lender Bridging Finance Inc.

Bridging Finance has C$1.6 billion ($1.2 billion) in assets under management and its direct lending funds invest in collateral-based bridging loans, inventory and accounts-receivables financing, according to Chief Executive Officer David Sharpe, who confirmed Ng’s investment without disclosing the size of it. Returns from the funds have been around 8.5%, Sharpe said.
