HSBC Names Alex Paul to Lead Internal M&A Team in Latest Rejig

HSBC Holdings Plc has appointed Alex Paul to lead its internal mergers and acquisitions team.

Paul will be based in Hong Kong and start the new role next month, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg. He will report to Will McLane, HSBC’s group head of strategy and corporate development, the memo shows.

In his new role, Paul will oversee all group M&A activity for HSBC, helping to identify strategic opportunities for the bank and executing its transaction pipeline. He joined HSBC in 2007 and was most recently global co-head of technology, digital and financial services investment banking.
