Goldman Names Fintech Banker Gido Co-Chair of Financials Group

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has named Jeff Gido co-chair of the financial institutions group within investment banking, elevating the long-time financial technology banker.

Gido, who joined Goldman Sachs in 2001, will work with “senior leaders” across the financial institutions team and broader business to “drive commercial opportunities” and advise on some of the firm’s most important clients, particularly in fintech, according to an internal memo reviewed by Bloomberg.

He will work alongside Co-Chairs John Mahoney and Dirk Lievens.

A representative for Goldman Sachs confirmed the contents of the memo and declined to comment further.
