It’s time to think about what acquisitions might look like for the new and improved General Electric Co.

The former quintessential industrial conglomerate on Tuesday narrowed down the timeline for the last major piece of its slow-moving unraveling. GE will spin off its Vernova gas turbines and renewable energy business at the beginning of the second quarter, with Chief Executive Officer Larry Culp indicating that he will only have aerospace results to comment on when the company makes its late April earnings update.
