GE, BHGE Must File Unredacted Documents in Merger Challenge Case

General Electric Co. and the former Baker Hughes Inc. must publicly file unredacted versions of court papers sealed in a once-settled, now-reopened lawsuit challenging the price GE paid to acquire BHI in 2017.

The suit asked Delaware’s Chancery Court to determine BHI’s true value at the time of the merger and force the company to make up the difference between that figure and the offer it accepted from GE, which was not named as a defendant. The case settled last year on undisclosed terms. The former BHI is now known as Baker Hughes, a GE company.
