French Grocer Casino Gets Offers for Supermarkets, Hypermarkets

Casino Guichard-Perrachon SA has received bids for some of its hypermarkets and supermarkets as the ailing French grocer pushes ahead with its restructuring.

Casino will review the preliminary indicative offers, the retailer said Friday. Auchan board member Serge Papin told BFM TV the retailer has made a joint bid with Intermarche for all the stores on sale.

Carrefour SA was among parties showing interest in the stores, French daily Les Echos said Sunday. Any disposal will be subject to the approval of the consortium led by Daniel Kretinskythat’s taking over Casino.
