First Data Ex-VP Challenges Noncompete, Alleging Retaliation (1)

A former First Data Corp. senior vice president who says she was fired for reporting bias and harassment sued the company in Delaware, challenging its efforts to enforce an “overbroad” noncompete.

Melissa Jankowski lost her position with First Data’s debit processing division in August, according to her Chancery Court lawsuit, which was made public Dec. 3 after being filed under seal Nov. 25.

The move came about a week after the closing of First Data’s $22 billion buyout by Fiserv Inc., which let the company disguise Jankowski’s termination as part of its merger-related force reductions, according to the partly ...
