Energy M&A Target Santos Wins Legal Battle Over Gas Pipeline (2)

Santos Ltd., the oil and gas producer in talks over a tie-up with rival Woodside Energy Group Ltd., won a legal challenge against a key growth project off Australia’s northern coast.

The company can resume construction of a 262 kilometers (163 miles)-long gas pipeline after Justice Natalie Charlesworth rejected objections over the potential impact on sites of cultural importance to Indigenous residents of the nearby Tiwi Islands.
