DuPont Buying Electronics Materials Maker for $2.3 Billion (1)

DuPont has reached an agreement to buy Laird Performance Materials, a company that specializes in advanced electronic materials for autonomous vehicles, for $2.3 billion.

The cash deal with Laird’s private equity owner, Advent International, is expected to close in the third quarter, DuPont said in a statement Monday. Laird, which had $465 million of revenue last year, is a world leader in electromagnetic shielding and thermal management systems also used in 5G telecommunications, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications.
