The Justice Department’s antitrust division is planning to create two new departments to monitor corporate conduct and compliance while it also revamps the structure for media and finance federal merger investigations.
The reorganization of the division’s internal processes is aimed at ensuring more efficient enforcement, antitrust chief Makan Delrahim said Thursday. It’s the first major restructuring of the government’s merger investigation processes in more than 20 years, he said during a conference hosted by Stanford University.
