Discovery Buys Golf Digest From Condé Nast in Bigger Bet on Game

Cable-television company Discovery Inc. acquired Golf Digest magazine from Condé Nast, looking to add more content to its new streaming service for golf fans and gain a foothold in the U.S. market for the sport.

Discovery plans to meld Golf Digest’s print and digital content with its GolfTV unit, which carries golf tournaments and other programming outside the U.S., the company said in a statement Monday.

The companies didn’t disclose the purchase price, but the New York Post reported earlier Monday that Discovery spent $30 million on the magazine -- about $400 million less than Condé Nast paid ...
