Daily Mail Owner Rothermere Takes Over as CEO After Buyout (1)

Daily Mail and General Trust said Chief Executive Officer Paul Zwillenberg will step down after six years during which he broke up one of the UK’s biggest media groups and took it private.

Chairman Jonathan Harmsworth, known as Lord Rothermere, will take over as Chief Executive after Zwillenberg steps down on Sep. 30, he said in a memo to staff seen by Bloomberg. Zwillenberg will stay on as a senior adviser.

DMGT was taken private earlier this year by Rothermere’s family trust. That followed a series of divestments worth billions of dollars overseen by former Boston Consulting Group director Zwillenberg. ...
