Credit Suisse’s Gohman to Lead Leveraged Finance Team at Scotia

Benjamin Gohman, a managing director within Credit Suisse Group AG’s once-storied leveraged finance group, has left for a role at Canada’s Bank of Nova Scotia, adding to a slew of high-profile departures from the institution this year since it was purchased by UBS Group AG.

At Scotiabank, Gohman will be the head of non-investment grade finance and capital markets, and the head of US loan syndication, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg. In the role, Gohman will be responsible for establishing strategic direction and building out the bank’s leveraged finance business, the memo said.
