CorePower Yoga Bound to $30 Million Studio Deal Despite Pandemic

CorePower Yoga LLC must pay roughly $30 million, plus interest, for trying to walk away from its buyout of 34 franchise locations, a Delaware judge ruled, ending the company’s two-year quest to break off the deal over the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vice Chancellor Joseph R. Slights III issued in an 88-page decision Tuesday in favor of CorePower’s onetime largest franchise operator, Level 4 Yoga LLC, rejecting the idea that it repudiated the transaction by breaching its contracts with CorePower when it shuttered studios early in the pandemic.
