Compass Agrees to Pay $57.5 Million to Settle Broker Cases (1)

Compass Inc., the brokerage led by Robert Reffkin, agreed to settle class-action lawsuits targeting commissions for $57.5 million.

The agreement, which still needs to be approved by a court, also includes some changes to Compass practices, including requiring its brokerages and agents to disclose that commissions are fully negotiable, according to a regulatory filing Friday, which noted that the settlement isn’t an admission of liability.
