Citigroup Global Investment Banking Chair John Chirico to Retire

John Chirico, Citigroup Inc.’s global chair of investment banking, is retiring after decades of work for some of the bank’s most important clients.

The move was announced Thursday in an internal memo reviewed by Bloomberg News.

“John has built and developed banking teams charged with providing leading edge financing and advisory solutions to our clients globally” Vis Raghavan, Citigroup’s head of banking, said in the memo.

Chirico has led banking for some of Citigroup’s most influential clients, including Verizon, Tesla and SpaceX. He also advised on major corporate restructurings at companies such as AT&T, AIG ...
