Citi Nabs JPMorgan’s Witherspoon for Real Estate Dealmaking

Citigroup Inc. hired JPMorgan Chase & Co. veteran John Witherspoon as a managing director in its real estate investment-banking team, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Witherspoon will report to Matthew Greenberger, head of Citi’s real estate investment-banking effort, said the people, all of whom requested anonymity to discuss confidential information.

Witherspoon, who’s based in Houston, has worked at JPMorgan since at least 2004, Finra records show.

A representative for JPMorgan declined to comment. Citigroup had no immediate comment.
