Chip Gear Maker ASMPT Calls Off Privatization Talks

ASMPT Ltd. has terminated discussions around a buyout offer, killing a deal that could have taken the $4 billion semiconductor equipment maker private.

The Hong Kong-listed firm said Monday it’s ceased negotiations with an unnamed party with respect to a possible privatization deal. Previously, Bloomberg News reported KKR & Co. was considering a takeover of the chip gear maker, a key player in the global semiconductor industry.
