Chinese Truck Startup Valued at $455 Million Seeks Funds (1)

Tusimple Inc., a Chinese startup that is developing self-driving trucks, said it’s going to seek more funding to expand the business after raising investments last year at a valuation of $455 million.

“We have no difficulty in finding investors and the next round of funding will start soon,” Hou Xiaodi, co-founder and chief technology officer, said in an interview in Tokyo, disclosing a valuation publicly for the first time. “The autonomous driving market is very hot now.”

Hou later said the next fundraising round won’t start until the second half of this year.
