Cheniere Energy in Talks to Sell More LNG to Malaysia’s Petronas

Cheniere Energy Inc. is in discussions to sell additional liquefied natural gas from its US export terminals to Malaysian energy heavyweight Petronas, according to people familiar with the matter.

Petronas is potentially interested in a long-term supply agreement, according to two people who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. The company has been looking to diversify its portfolio as it expands its trading operations.

A spokesperson for Cheniere declined to comment, while Petronas didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment outside of normal business hours.
