Chemours Nominates CEO of Activist Vision One to Board (1)

Chemours Co. plans to add the chief executive officer of Vision One Management Partners to its board as it seeks to avoid a proxy fight with the activist investor.

The Wilmington, Delaware-based chemicals company has nominated Courtney Mather as a new independent director, according to a spokesperson for the group.

“Chemours continually evaluates our board composition to ensure we have the balanced collection of skills, experiences, and expertise needed to anticipate emerging trends, stay ahead of the market, and oversee the company’s business strategy,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
