Chanel Owners May Invest in Rothschild & Co., Les Echos Reports

Chanel owners Alain and Gerard Wertheimer will join a group of European families planning to invest in Rothschild & Co. after the storied bank announced plans to go private, Les Echos reported on Sunday, citing unidentified people close to the situation.

The Wertheimers would take a stake in Rothschild & Co. via their family office Mousse Partners, the French newspaper said.

The owners of the privately-held luxury powerhouse Chanel are set to follow the steps of two of Europe’s richest families, the Dassaults and Peugeots, who also plan to take a stake, Les Echos said.
