Market forces have done their job. An alternative to David Ellison’s takeover bid for Hollywood studio Paramount Global has finally surfaced. The son of Oracle Corp. founder Larry Ellison now faces a threat from another wealthy scion, Edgar Bronfman Jr., the Seagram spirits heir.
Bronfman’s counteroffer is no knockout at the moment. The risk for Ellison is that it’s just an opening salvo.
