Football entrepreneur Charlie Methven, who previously backed UK teams Oxford United and Sunderland AFC, is leading an investor group to take over Belgian club RAEC Mons.
Methven is investing alongside Peter Gould, another British investor, into the country’s third-tier league team, according to a statement. Simon van Kerckhoven, a Belgian football consultant and wrote a book about football club management, will become managing director of RAEC Mons. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
