BofA Hires Varagon Investment Banker Wong for Financial Deals

Bank of America Corp. hired Alice Wong from Varagon Capital Partners for its growing financial-institutions investment-banking business.

Wong will be based in New York as a manging director covering financial institutions mergers and acquisitions, according to a memo to staff from Will Addas, Giorgio Cocini and Gary Howe, who lead Bank of America’s global financial-institutions investment-banking operation.

The hiring follows BofA’s addition of Benjamin Saunders to its financial-institutions unit, announced Tuesday. Dealmaking has boomed across banks as a combination of cheap financing for buyers and attractive valuations for sellers spurred a wave of takeovers.
