Boeing, Airbus Complete Deal to Split Spirit Aerosystems Assets

Boeing Co. completed its complex acquisition of struggling US aerospace supplier Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc., taking back a key part of its supply chain as it works to restore quality standards.

The long-awaited deal will see Boeing take over units from its largest supplier, including facilities that produce fuselages for the 737 program and major structures for the 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliner. It also expands the planemaker’s maintenance, repair and overhaul services.
