Blue Owl Co-Founder Selling NFL Commanders Stake to Harris Group

Doug Ostrover, the billionaire co-founder of Blue Owl Capital Inc., is unloading his stake in the NFL’s Washington Commanders.

Ostrover is selling his stake back to the Josh Harris-led ownership group, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The move comes three years after he joined a consortium to shell out the largest amount ever paid for a US professional sports team.

Blue Owl’s leaders have seen their wealth dive as shares of the beleaguered private-credit focused money manager have plunged more than 60% from a January 2025 high.
