Blackstone Real Estate Dealmaker Henritze Leaving to Launch Firm

A Blackstone Inc. dealmaker who shaped iconic bets on hotels and other property plays is leaving after almost two decades to start his own investment firm.

Tyler Henritze, 42, head of strategic investments at Blackstone’s real estate business in the Americas, helped drive bets including luxury hotel and casino Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and data center developer QTS Realty Trust Inc. He played a role in more than $100 billion of real estate transactions that cemented Blackstone’s brand as a powerhouse in that industry and minted profits for the world’s biggest commercial property owner.
