Blackstone Names David Ben-Ur as CIO of Hedge Fund Business

Blackstone Inc. named David Ben-Ur to oversee investments for its business that allocates client capital to hedge funds.

Ben-Ur joins from CAM Capital, where he managed assets for Bruce Kovner, according to a Thursday statement. Blackstone also named Atish Nigam to run investments for its special situations business.

The decision follows other personnel changes in the $81 billion Blackstone Alternative Asset Management unit. Bloomberg reported in October that John McCormick, BAAM’s co-head, was set to leave in the coming months. The group is now solely run by Joe Dowling, who joined in January from Brown University’s endowment.
