Aviva Plc has received interest from about 20 potential bidders for its French unit, as new Chief Executive Officer Amanda Blanc’s overhaul of the insurer gets under way, French media reported.
Patrick Dixneuf, head of Aviva France, said at a meeting with staff on Monday that the sales process had begun, though no bidder had been selected and no date set for the sale, French newspaper Les Echos reported, citing union officials. The unit could fetch as much as 4 billion euros ($4.7 billion), financial news agency L’Agefi said, citing unidentified people.
