Autodesk to Buy MaintainX for About $3.6 Billion in Cash (1)

Engineering software maker Autodesk Inc. has agreed to buy MaintainX, a firm focused on maintenance tools.

The all-cash deal values MaintainX at $3.6 billion, Autodesk said Thursday in a statement. “Autodesk is expanding into operations, “ensuring data and insights flow seamlessly in a continuous life cycle,” Chief Executive Officer Andrew Anagnost said.

MaintainX is used to manage inspections, work orders and the condition of assets across a wide variety of industries, including farming, manufacturing and food services.
